A Multivariate Quality Control Procedure in Multistage Production Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
In this paper a multivariate quality control procedure is offered in which several correlated stages are present in production systems and in each stage there are several correlated control variable. Using Hotelling's T2 statistic, first, each stage is tested for being out of control. Then out of control variables are selected using Murphy's method. The remainder of the research involves evaluating each stage, when the present and the previous stages are both out of control. In this regard, regression of the present stages' T2 statistic on prior stages' P statistics is considered and a residual test between the present stage estimated and observed T2 statistics is made.

On the Performance of a Multivariate Control Chart in Multistage Environment
In this paper, a Multivariate-Multistage Quality Control (MVMSQC) procedure is investigated. In this procedure discriminate analysis, linear regression and control chart theory are combined to control the means of correlated characteristics of a process, which involves several serial stages. Furthermore, the quality of the output at each stage depends on the output of the previous stage as well...
متن کاملQuality control and improvement for multistage systems: A survey
A multistage system refers to a system consisting of multiple components, stations or stages required to finish the final product or service. Multistage systems are very common in practice and include a variety of modern manufacturing and service systems. In most cases, the quality of the final product or service produced by a multistage system is determined by complex interactions among multip...
متن کاملInspection Strategies for Multistage Production Systems with Time-Varying Quality
An economic, cost of quality model is formulated for a production system with multiple inspection locations and sampling. The model is applied to a thermal printer for digital photographs to determine when inspection of incoming material is appropriate. A simple dynamic model of quality is used, allowing for common-cause defects and the evaluation of sampling plans. The opportunity to correct q...
متن کاملMultivariate Analysis of Transient State Infrared Images in Production Line Quality Control Systems
Manufacturers would like to increase production volumes while preserving the high quality of their products. The long testing times can cause a bottleneck of production processes especially taking into account the observed tendency for testing all produced devices. The main aim of this work consists in the analysis of time changes of features extracted from thermal images using the multivariate...
متن کاملLot streaming in multistage production systems
Lot streaming is a procedure in which a production lot is split into smaller sub-lots and moved to the next processing stage so that operations at successive stages of a multistage manufacturing system can be overlapped in time. Lot streaming reduces the manufacturing lead time and thereby provides an opportunity to lower the costs of holding work-in-process inventories. In this paper, we prese...
متن کاملMulti-Objective Lead Time Control in Multistage Assembly Systems (TECHNICAL NOTE)
In this paper we develop a multi-objective model to optimally control the lead time of a multistage assembly system. The multistage assembly system is modeled as an open queueing network, whose service stations represent manufacturing or assembly operations. The arrival processes of the individual parts of the product, which should be assembled to each other in assembly stations, are assumed to...
